On November 4, 2021, World of Wonder announced that Season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race would be returning on January 6, 2023. Casting for this season began on the same day and ended on January 7, 2022. The show was moved from Logo to MTV in December 2022 due to "scheduling conflicts." On December 12, 2022, a premiere date of January 6 (this season) was announced. It was also revealed that the prize money for this season had been raised to $200,000. On December 19, 2022, Ts Madison was announced as a rotating regular judge for this season.
