We are Green-e®Certified

100% of the electricity for all of the productions that shoot in our stages is matched with Green-e certified renewable energy. Let’s face it, film & video production uses a lot of energy! We believe it’s critical for the industry as a whole to start to refuse to use non-renewable energy sources in their projects. It may seem impossible at first glance, but it’s not! We hope to set an example for one way we can start to green our industry. We partnered with Green-e to verify our claims so that our clients can feel confident representing to their clients that they are shooting using certified renewable energy sources.

Green-e® is a program run by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions, and has been the nation’s leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions since 1997. The Green-e® certification mark is a trusted seal used on over 700 product labels in stores nationwide.
In order to qualify for use of the Green-e® mark, businesses must source their electricity from certified renewable energy projects through the purchase of renewable energy certificates (RECs) or enrollment in green power programs with their utilities.

We match 100% of our electricity use with certified renewable energy meaning, for every kilowatt hour of electricity we consumed, we purchased a kilowatt hour of renewable energy.

how we’re making An impact

Each action that we take to fight global warming may be small on its own. However, when all these actions are added together, the impact can be huge! To remove carbon emissions from the atmosphere, we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to plant 5 trees for every booking in our studio and equipment rental in the Mata Atlantica forest in Brazil. This is to drive the systemic change needed to protect – and regenerate – the natural world.

Trees Planted

Before One Tree Planted has even reached a decade of planting, they've been able to get more than 40,000,000 trees in the ground! This year alone, 23,588,232 trees they planted through 166 projects in 42 countries around the world. Reforestation is about so much more than just trees. From supporting over 35,000 farming families to employing/involving over 5,000 women and engaging over 39,000 volunteers, we’re so proud of the lasting social and economic impact that we’ve made, together.

HOW WE’RE MAKING CHANGE

What does “climate positive” mean? It means we are going beyond being simply carbon neutral, we are actually going beyond what it takes to simply offset our energy usage, we are planting trees to help reforest our planet!
What is “renewable energy”? Renewable energy sources are replenished naturally and include solar, wind, bio-diesel, and more.

Renewable electricity
Our company already runs on 100 percent renewable electricity generated from solar and wind.
Energy efficiency
We’re finding more ways to increase energy efficiency across all our studios, offices, and warehouse, including LED facility lighting, and investing in LED film lighting for our rental inventory.
Carbon removal
We’re working to remove carbon from the atmosphere through the tree planting initiative in Brazil that we support while also supporting local communities and restoring biodiversity.
Our commitment to sustainability means we're always looking for new ways to reduce our environmental impact.
Climate Change
We know that we cannot solve the climate crisis or grow our business without nature as our ally. We're committed to contributing to a nature-positive future by protecting and restoring forests and regenerating agricultural systems. We’re joining a bold ambition to help eliminate deforestation by 2025 and protect and regenerate land, forests, and oceans.
The fight against climate change is also a fight for economic equality.
Partnering with One Tree Planted
We are climate positive! We’re striving to bring our energy usage down as low as possible, and use 100% renewable energy sources. But we are going beyond that! We are helping to remove carbon emissions from the atmosphere, and to do that we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to plant 5 trees for every booking in our stages and and every equipment rental order, to drive the systemic change needed to protect – and regenerate – the natural world. All of these efforts combined will help sequester carbon, restore ecosystems, and engage local and Indigenous communities while helping along the way to the 2030 goal of carbon neutrality.
About One Tree Planted
One Tree Planted is a nonprofit on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Their projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and knowledgeable experts to create an impact on nature, people, and wildlife. Reforestation helps to rebuild forests after fires and floods, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity. tracking Trees planted

Each month we plant 500 trees in the Mata Atlantica forest in Brazil, which roughly matches the number of shoots and equipment orders we have monthly. At the end of each year, we will “true up” this number to the actual number of shoots and equipment orders, and plant that many more trees so it matches exactly! We’ll post each certificate here to verify our claim. Thank you for supporting our reforestation efforts!

tracking Renewable energy certificates

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are tradable commodities that represent the environmental attributes of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy generation. By purchasing RECs, Be Electric Studios support clean energy projects and reduce their carbon footprint.
