Practical Magic: Behind the Scenes of "Foreigner" at Be Electric

It is always a thrill to see how artists transform our stages to bring their visions to life. Recently, the team behind Genevieve’s new music video, "Foreigner," took over the studio to create something truly unique using a refreshing, "no-special-effects" approach.

Rather than relying on modern digital post-production or AI, the crew opted for practical effects, using real reflections, manual lighting cues, and vintage hardware. One of the most creative uses of our space involved the back of our video wall—the production used the exposed cables and machinery as a gritty, industrial set piece to symbolize the "subconscious mind."

To achieve the video's nostalgic texture, @neat_vape_tricks operated a specialized video switcher live on set, toggling between childhood home movies and new footage captured right here in the studio.

The Creative Team:

  • Directors: @gene.vieve_music & @regulator_321

  • Video Switcher/Practical FX: @neat_vape_tricks

  • Cinematography: @tsj_films

  • Lighting: @goodnyborg

  • Production: @geneses.creative

We are proud to provide the canvas for such high-level craftsmanship and "old-school" filmmaking techniques. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when a talented crew and a versatile space come together.

"Foreigner" is now streaming on all platforms. Check out the music video to see our studio in action!
